Today is the 12th January. I was following the Piers Morgan Show with Dr Oz at 10 am just now. The show discussed the health issues in the world generally and America especially. What was amazing was the attendance of one lady who is 101 years old and she revealed that the secrets of her longevity have been her diet which was consistently non fat, lots of milk and no alcohol. She avoided exposure to the sun and mostly lead a very actively life. She exercised even in bed and while sitting down on a chair. She said that thought that the main reason was lots of sex!!! Dr Oz concluded that Americans are generally on very poor diet of french fries which are loaded with bad fats. Sleep deprivation could also be a cause. Another interesting issue being discussed was how a highly dangerous life we are leading when we compound stress leading to sleep deprivation+ eating fat loaded foods + life style of inactivity and stress + daily personal traumas + little or no sex +side effects of strong medical drugs. When we think through all those its really frightening! We are no longer enjoying life because when we live in such a state even spiritually we could just be simply lazy and lousy. Oh God what have we allowed ourselves into? We think and spend too much time on the IQ and EQ but we should spend more time on SQ.
When I listened in and see what my grandchildren like eating, I feel worried. They enjoy the what you call the junks. Its always an uphill battle for their moms to make them love eating good home cooked foods. They find so much joy in watching and playing violent games with the television, no exercise except what they do in school. Everything is being done for them by the maids. My 9 going to be grandson told me recently that he does not enjoy swimming anymore because it makes him dark. He is beginning to feel vain. Swimming used to be his joyous form of exercise.
I am not being negative here but I just wonder when are we really going to face these issues squarely in the face. Unless and until we tackle these issues, they will remain something that we just talk or discuss about.

Its January the 5th 2013, today. Its more than 2 years of my late husband's passing but everyday its like it was just yesterday. Everyday of my breathing moments since July 12th 2010, I remember my moments with him and I still miss him very much. No words could ever describe the depth of my loss of the person who had been there for me for the last 48 years of married life and 8 years of dating life. Its as though I have lived my whole life with him and we have over those years moulded together in one life. Now it is more evident than ever that I have become more and more like him in my daily habits.
In my recent visit to London in December to visit my granddaughter, Ayne, every where we went reminded of my previous visits with my beloved husband, the restaurants we ate at, the shops we bought things together, the theaters we went to all brought back happy memories. At the same time I could also sense my spontaneous need to let go in order to make life easier to bear and it helped somehow and made life more bearable.
Twice my granddaughters and I sang songs while walking back in the night and we each took turns to sing. I sang at first a Malay song, 'Di manakan ku cari ganti', (Where can I find a replacement), the song I sang in front of Agong during a Golf Tournament dinner at the Tropicana Club. My husband encouraged me to sing that song. So singing again the song while walking back by the Hyde Park in London, was choking hard at first but when I was into the song it became easier. That was a very famous Malay song sung by P.Ramlee. On our second night walk I sang 'When I fall in love' together with Ayne. It became easier. It was my husbands favorite song which he normally sang whenever he was asked to sing. He used to love all Nat King Cole's songs.
I am never really lonely. I am able to move on. He is and will always be with me. I can feel his presence everywhere and everytime, so how could I be lonely? Rest in peace my darling, may Allah forgive your sins, Gives you His Blessings and Love. Bye my Love, I am forever yours!

It has been a while since I have been sharing anything here. Today I am feeling very happy and Blessed as the book my late wrote has been printed and ready for sale. Please check with your bookshops. Its title is 'Dare To Dream' by Tan Sri Radin Soenarno. It is his memoir and there are lots of interesting episodes in his life that he shared with his readers in the book. I hope you all will get a copy and it is also for a good cause as we pledge to donate to charities all profits of the sales. After his passing in July 2010, it took us a year over to get to this stage. I welcome any feedbacks from you all too. Thank you to those who manage to get a copy.

changing times
Long time no post. Been feeling rather passive even before the fasting month. Time passes by so fast, its already November 2009. The year is ending soon. Feelings have not been very stable with friends especially. Am trying very hard to detach myself from old emotions. Things are no longer the same, that I have to fully acknowledge. Things cannot remain the same at all times, things are bound to change, sad as much as they are but I have to accept changes......

Down with dengue(6thJune-19thJune)
I never suspected that I was having dengue that Saturday night before we had our family dinner and I had cooked a special dish of Mee Jawa for the boys and their families. I suddenly felt so sick, with hi fever and body aching. I was getting more sick for the next 5days never suspected anything more than just an ordinary viral infection. My maid was down too. I refrained from going to the hospital because I knew it would be difficult for my husband to visit me in the hospital. By Wednesday things were not improving so I telephoned Asrul, my eldest son, to take me to the emergency unit at the Damansara Specialist Hospital because I could no longer eat or get up or sit up other than the necessary chores of having to go to the toilets.
After the blood test which confirmed that my blood platelets were at 56,(normal range was 150-450), I was given drips and warded at the hospital for five days. My blood platelet went down further to 39 and it was then confirmed I had dengue.
I would wish it on no one, this dengue thing. It was an awefull experience of hi fever, body pains, stomach pains and terrible headaches and worse of the lethargy and extreme fatigues , which I found to be so unbearable.
With several bags of drips, I slowly became well again. Now my blood platelets is at 317. I thank ALLAH for being well again.

Surviving the hot weather
The weather is still hot. Its been more than three weeks now. It helps when I stay indoors most of the time, except when it is exceptional necessary to go out like going to classes. I try to draw in the curtains most of the time so that it indoors remain cool and at night to have the lights on only in rooms where there are people. I also make sure the doors of the rooms not occupied to be open so that there is better air circulation. I am thinking of rolling up the carpets, maybe it will further help to cool the room. The marble floors are very cooling and maybe without the carpets the cooling floors can help further cool the room.
